Secure site access problems thru my wireless router

My computer is behind the firewall built into a DI-713P wireless router and accesses the net through a DSL modem connected to it. Along with that, I have the firewall in the networking properties in WIN XP for the NIC (Properties->Advanced) enabled. With this setup, I can access certain secure sites only if I connect directly to the DSL modem (i.e. without the router) and disable the XP firewall . Needless to say, doing this everytime I want to access the site is very painful.

What can I do to avoid this problem?

Not sure what you mean by 'secure sites'. You will have to figure out what ports the secure sites use and allow them. Could be you just need to allow the cookies in your browser.
