Was wondering if anyone knows of some software that can do secure filesharing between Windows machines on two separate networks on a company intranet. Essentially, what happened was that all 95/98 machines that were once on the same network as 2K/XP machines are now segregated to their own network.
Looking for something that can mimic the functionality of Windows' simple filesharing and/or mapped drives (which is blocked by a firewall between the two networks) using scp or ssh connections (or some other secure protocols not likely to be blocked). Since modifying the firewall restrictions isn't going to happen, the only option I've found so faris to use an SFTP server as an intermediary between the two machines/networks. This method is inconvenient for a lot of people as there is no longer an inherent file consistency that came with mapping drives (i.e., making a change to a file requires them to explicitly copy it twice whereas before the change was immediate and transparent).
