I have a few old CF cards that I'm done with, is there a way to secure erase or wipe these things clean? I've reformatted them (long version) but just wondering...

You cannot secure erase a CF card so if you are truly finished with it then physically destroy it. Overwriting it multiple times will also work but it would take a lot longer.

Try RoadKill's Disk Wipe. Only one pass should be sufficient on flash memory (as well as conventional drives). Not sure if it gets to the protected service areas used for wear-leveling and bad blocks, though.

CCleaner also has a disk wiper in Tools. Same possible limitation as above.

Check the CF manufacturer for any utilities it may offer for download.
