Secure Digital (SD) & Multimedia Cards (MMC)...

Branding is the only difference, as far as I can tell. They're the same size, shape, offered in the same size steppings, and SD readers always read MMC, and MMC readers always read SD. Why the hell they don't just share one name is beyond me.
 
SD has security features and encryption. Other than that, they are effectively the same. Most people go for SD these days.
 
That seems wasteful. "Oh no, someone might decrypt my Florida vacation shots! Quick, break out the ROT13!"

There is a point where paranoid becomes needlessly paranoid.

I thought that was the only difference, doesn't bother me either way...whichever is cheapest!
