Looking for a secure desktop solution that can lock my desktop/computer when I am away but does not shut/turn off running programs. Using the default windows stuff causes running programs to stop and be inert. What is out there that can keep things running along but keep the kids/others from messing with stuff while I am away?? Thanks..

I did the password protected account. It shuts down running programs when you log off and protect the account. Duh.

If using XP turn off both fast user switching and show welcome screen (in control panel>users>change the way users log on or off). Once done, do ctrl+alt+del and press lock workstation, or quicker way Winkey+L.

Thyme, how and where??

Shortcut or start...run...

Don't know if that will work with fast user switching enabled, so you might need to do as Snapster suggested.
