Secondary HDD not recognized by XP

What happens if you look into disk management. Is it there?

mail guy, what kind of device is it? sata2, external harddrive? external cd rw?

Internal Western Digital 160GB HDD, running as EIDE Secondary on the same EIDE Cable as the Primary HDD. Now it is not showing up at all under "My Computer". I just now got it to show in disk management, but not quite sure how.

Didn't seem to make a difference whether secondary HDD was set to CS or Slave

sorry, somehow this thread had been repeated over and over and over. Don't know what happened. Anyway, this is the end...Thank God! I formatted the secondary, and put XP Pro on it, and it works fine. Thank you all for the help as usual.

Here is a tip for the future, WD drives when by thereselves will not work while the jumper is in the master position, only CS.
