Second Xbox 360 console

I currently own an Xbox 360 Pro (Falcon) that I upgraded to the 120GB HDD. I've bought a few XBLA games. I'm thinking about picking up a second Xbox 360, an Arcade model, and putting the new Xbox into the master bedroom. I plan on just swapping the 120GB HDD to the console that I want to play.

Is there anything that I need to be aware of when switching between the two consoles? Will anything weird happen when I switch consoles? Will I have to 'recover gamertag' each time I swap? WIll I be able to play my downloaded XBLA games on each consoles?

i want to say there shouldnt be. u just need to recover the gamertag ever time.

i think thats it.

Why would I need to recover the gamertag, though? The profile resides on the one HDD that I'd be moving between the two consoles.

There isn't any problems. you can do a license transfer from falcon to newer one when you move the hard drive. that way you don't have to log onto xbox live every time you want to play arcade games.

I assume you still have the 20gb drive right? If you do you can redownload all the titles you already bought onto it. Pick up a spare memory card and move the xbox live profile that you bought the games onto it. this way the system with the game license can play without ever having to go onto xbox live. when you want to play the arcade games on older system just sign on to xbox live and the game full versions are unlock. Yes it tedious work but this way you can let others borrow xbla games if you want.

I do this with my nephews. I have an live profile just to buy arcade games. I buy it on my main system then have them download the trial on theirs. then I just give them the memory card and they can play when they like.

You don't have to do a gamertag recovery every time you switch consoles. If you just move the HDD from your original 360 to the new 360, it will be fine. Just be aware that you need to be signed into your profile on your second 360 to play the full version. The Arcade games are tied to the console they are downloaded on and the gamertag that bought them.
