in the old forum you had the main topic line, then the option of putting more info on a second sub line.. or whatever it might be called.

is there plans to bring it back? currently if you look at the topics it seems like there is only the main topic line, and under that is the name of the person who created the topic.

i personally found the second line very useful

You mean the Topic Summary? I wish it was back, it was the only way to summarize/know what's in a topic before viewing it.

yes, the topic summary. i had forgotten the name of it, but i think thats what it was called

obviously there is a reason for requesting it, otherwise i would not have

I loved it as well. Also, your retort made me laugh.

Why did we leave fusetalk again? Search worked fine for me. I'm going to have to go find another forum that uses FT now...I think AMD's do.

If we could move the usernames to be right justified up next to the most recent post, then we'd have room for the subtopics again.

If i'm not wrong vB has the ability to provide summaries when you mouse-over the topic link, i.e a box will pop up with the summary or the first line of the OP. That would work nicely. A second line for summary would waste screenspace IMO

it would not add any more space than what it already has. for example

Except that they have already stated mouseovers have been disabled due to severe performance issues.

I'd like to see the Topic Summary line come back too.

Hell I could search for an entire topic name, and it still wouldn't show up. That search was a travesty. The only way you could possibly search before was using Google and a few filters.

Fusetalk was junk. Yea, it's laid out a little better, but change is change. It amazes me how many times already I see people complaining that they don't or will not post anymore because the forums look different. REALLY? Yea, sure, the forum looks bland and generic right (something that will be addressed eventually), but I don't come to AT because of the look of the forum.

so are there any plans in the future to update how the forum looks and operates?

would be nice to get some official 'this is what we plan in the not so distant future' announcement, and might also cut down on the suggestions too if they are already planned on being implemented some time down the line

to a certain extent they are limited to vBulletin's layout. FT revised code was being developed in conjunction with Anandtech, that is why some of the things there were more customized there in the beginning
