Second opinion needed on troubleshooting

Its been a long day and I'm dead tired, but I just wanted a second (or third) opinion on this to make sure i didnt miss anything.

My server had an epox- 8rda+ with a 2200+ and 512MB crucial memory. Few weeks ago, it froze, i restarted, it wouldnt post. Heat was never an issue with this case so i dont think that was a problem.

NOW: The motherboard has the LED readout on it for POST problems. It reads C1, which the manual says is a memory problem. The motherboards capacitors near the ram slots are exploded, so I figure Ok, mobo is fried.

QUESTION:

I've put the cpu/ram into a new motherboard, its an old a7v333 i had laying around the house, known to be good and functional. Get it all setup, no beeps, fans turn on and lights light up, but no beeps, no post. Tried multiple gpu's nothing.

Remove the ram and no beeps. Does this mean CPU fried as well?

Don't want to swap cpu's into my good rig(can't swap ram)

Think its a retail amd so i should be covered under RMA (always worth that extra $3)

In any case...if you think my diagnosis is wrong let me know, but i think my reasoning is good.

Has anyone ever RMA'd crucial memory? they always say its covered with a lifetime warranty...I've never bothered RMAing it. Do you have to have purchased it from them, I think mine was purchased from newegg but about 2 years ago.

HELP!

The bulging and exploding caps is a pretty well known problem, and Epox will take the board for replacement/repair. Now it appears that when the board went, it took the memory with it, and I would rma that as well. It sounds like the board had a massive voltage surge, which could have toasted just about anything connected to at the time of the surge. Outside of testing the cpu in another board, I'd put it on the rma list as well.
