So, my first MSI P35, died sometime last year, when I did a reset, while I was in windows. It experienced a bios corruption, that RMA took care of.
The problem is that on Monday, the MSI P35 I received from RMA, died suddenly. It started giving BSODs when I was shutting down my computer and on that day, it gave me one BSOD while I was surfing the net and nothing more. So I wanted to see if it's temperature related and I fired up OCCT (not the Linpack test ) and after 20 seconds, the system turned off and it refused to boot anymore. I went with it at the store and the mobo was dead, so once again, they replaced it for me .
Now, I'm wondering myself, has this happened because of my overclock? I was keeping my Q6700 at 3.7 ghz and 1.55 V from bios. Every time I was doing intensive stuff, that would load up the CPU, I had a weird fssing sound coming from the voltage regulators area. Would it be possible that I killed them because of the high voltage I was sending through them? I would really like to know what you think about this, because I don't know if I should put the cpu at 3.7 ghz as it was before, or I should back the oc down a bit.
