i am getting a geforce 4 ti 4200 VTD card from msi(ms8870). Only problem is that the card is second hand and 4 months old. Also the card was purchased in canada(I am in India) So no warranty is applicable.
Now is it safe to buy it? Is there any such thing as a failure rate in these cards?(Since i won't get warranty so this is very important). Also is msi reliable companyin graphic cards? Here is the card
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=351&MODEL=MS-8870

The person who has used the card has not overclocked it and neither am i going to do it....

I am getting a good price(about 50$ cheaper then cost price of the card

Waiting for your reponses. I will decide based on what u guys say...
Thanks in advance

Usually if something fails it would have done so already. When buying used I like buying from people that'll let you return it. In case you try it and it doesn't work or has a problem.

MSI makes great cards, in general. Can't say whether or not this particular one is worth the buy or not, since it depends on how well the previous owner treated it.

Basically... the decision is up to you based on how well you trust the person you're buying from. There is nothing specific about MSI or their cards that should make you shy away from them.

MSI is a reliable company, make sure the person you are buying it from can guarentee that the card will NOT be Dead On Arrival (DOA)

he is ok person... also i will test it once before buying the card on his comp.. So DOA is ruled out... I am worried about post failure :D
