Second drive won't wake up???

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
When windows goes to sleep my D: WD 250gig slave PATA drive will not wake.

My C: Main drive is a SATA WD 1tb.
I have heard others had some problems with drives not waking after Windows goes to sleep.
Is there a fix or something I can do to fix the problem?

I haven't had a system go to sleep for a very long time... My first thoughts though would be something with a BIOS configuration and or update that might be the key here. IDE drives are pretty simple but don't support the re-connectivity of SATA.

Also, with that old IDE drive, do you have it jumper-set or cable select... Might be drive specific... Just thinking out loud. Things to look over.

My first suspicion is still the BIOS in one form or another. But you might try just reconfiguring it to a cable-select mode to see if it is more easily recognized. Perhaps that part of the drive itself is failing.
