Congratulations! You have received a Second Chance Offer on the item entitled: '' Bang & Olufsen Beolab 8000 powered speakers '' (Item number:330027454543) for your last bid price of US $1,000.00. Our seller: - email address here - made you this offer because the winner of the auction is unable to complete this transaction at this time. This transaction will be made through eBay and will be supervised and protected by the eBay Safe Harbor Team with the new Buyer Protection Program offered by eBay. Transactions with this eBay seller are covered by purchase protection against fraud and description error.

I placed a bid on these speakers but my bid was no where close to the winning bid of $1,751 nor was my bid in second place. The guy that contacted me with the message above is not the seller either.

What's going on? Scam? I don't get it.

go to Ebay's page, log on to your account, check your messages. If you don't have said Second Chance offer in your official ebay messages, it's not legit.

Contact the original Seller to verify. Maybe you'll get it at the price you wanted, but it does sound like a scam.

Probable scam. People watch auctions and them try to get you to buy the item outside of Ebay, thus having no protection......

It's a scam. I got outbid on an Alpine nav unit and I was bombarded from all these freaking scammers. They use bid history and try to scam people.

Like someone said, go to my messages under my ebay. If you don't see a second chance offer there, then don't bother.

Between these second chance scammers and all of the supposed "wholesalers" who email me and want to sell me tons of electronics for unbelievable prices, Ebay is quite the scam central these days.....

Probably a scammer. Log in to your ebay account directly and check if you really got it.

My Ebay has the very same email that I received in my email inbox.

Now what?

I guess I'll contact the seller.
