I'm new to the forum so Hi to everyone :)

Current system spec;

2500k @ 4.4ghz
P8P67 pro
GTX580 1.5GB twin frozr II
M4 256gb
Corsair TX750 PSU
700D case

I only play BF3 at 1080p 120hz monitor, I want 100-120 fps at ultra settings with 2-4xAA, I get about 50-60 fps now with 2xAA.

If I buy another 580 I will need a new PSU as apparently 750w isnt enough for sli 580 (oc'd) and a 2500k also overclocked.

Price of 2 670's = £640 (+ ~£200 for selling my 580) = £440

Or buy another 580 (new at £250) + a 1200w silverstone PSU ( overkill but bargain at £150) = £400, plus ~£60 from sale of TX750 = 360

What would you do?

I'd get the dual 670's, but your performance will be pretty close with either setup.

Pretty much, the two important differences is that the 670's will future proof you a bit more with that extra 512 megabytes of VRAM. Also the 670's use a hell of a lot less power than a 580.

670 SLI would probably be about 25% faster while using 150 less watts and having more vram.

I loved my 580 sli's when I had them. That said, i'd probably get 670......you can sell 580s pretty easily still.

Grab a single 670 zotac amp for $440. And oc it, will near 680 oc levels which will be nearly 50% faster than 580 stock.

Thanks for the info fellas

Look's like i'll go 670 sli :D

Just to confirm a corsair TX750 (v1) will be ok? i will probably clock the 670s a little too if theres enough juice to go around.

GTX 670 SLI review.

Even for some its earliest drivers, GeForce GTX 670 SLI provides near-linear performance upscaling over single GTX 670. With a power draw of just 28W in idle, and 250W average load, the GTX 670 SLI, for the first time, makes a dual-GPU flagship card look silly, in terms of performance/Watt. Even an efficient 600W PSU should handle the GTX 670 SLI just fine.

notty that review shows impressive scaling and it shows the 670 to basically be as fast as the 680.

Good move - idiots still think GTX 580 has value despite using twice the power and being way slower than cards costing same. I sold mine for $390.

Seems people are trapped in year old mind set out there. Get em before they catch up.

If you're going to raise the auto-clocking limit on 670s I would go with a slightly beefier PSU than 600watts. Those are some pricey video cards to risk on a cheaper PSU.

Sorry but my area doesn't always have 100% stable power. This was a hard learned lesson.
