Title says it all. Its been a long time since I've played with any Slot 1 processors, and I cannot for the life of me remember the difference between the SECC and SECC2 package (seem to remember something about the heatsink). Could someone refresh my memory? THANKS!

with secc, there was a heat spreader built into the cartridge. with secc2, the heatsink you bought came in direct contect with the chip, for much better cooling.

Yup, just different ways to mount the HSF. There was also the short lived SEPP for the original Celerons, which was yet another mounting system. Pretty stupid really.

i remember my p2 350 was overclocked to 466... it was rock solid on the BX. Then i checked on it a couple of months later... the HS/F wasn't even touching the back plate of the SECC that much. LOL. That was a pretty crappy design.
