The DB arguably got two feet in, at the very least he got one foot in after catching the ball.

all he needed was one foot and it was obvious that he got that. SEC protecting alabama to hopefully get two undefeated teams into the SEC championship.

As somebody with no dog in this fight since I hate both teams, allow me to say that it was definitely a hose-job call. That was a pick, no doubt about it. The SEC pretty clearly wants two undefeated teams in the conference title game so they're guaranteed to get one into the National Championship. If LSU beat Alabama and then beat Florida the SEC might get shut out.

You guys must have watched completely different replays than me. It must be irrefutable. Translation: I would not bet my life that he actually got a foot in.
Let's keep in mind that even with a pick LSU would still be trailing.
(I'm a tennessee fan and couldn't care less about either team so no bias here btw)

Maybe the guy reviewing the play only had a 12" screen. :p

They got hosed big time. SEC referees are absolutely pathetic.

I think now we can say that their officiating has definitely become a peculiar trend...

Is "irrefutable evidence" a higher bar to meet than "beyond a reasonable doubt"?

Apparently that is what college replay officials think! What is the point of having a replay official if the replay official never corrects the calls on the field?!?!

Do they just want to waste time?

Not only was the call in this game confusing, it seems like all replay officials RARELY correct a call on the field. It seems to me as if the bar is set too high for the replay official to change the call on the play.

If we are going to have replay officials, and if we are going to take the time to review plays, then replay officials need to actually make the correct calls!

The bar is perfectly fine. You have to be 100% certain that the review shows something different than what was called on the field. Getting into a "well if you look at the dirt kicked up it appears that he more than likely stayed in bounds!" discussion is not the intent. This is not a perfect system but is miles ahead of having no review at all.
I always watch these reviews and ask myself if I'd bet my life the call should be overturned and that's how the review officials should be treating these reviews as well.

Except, his RIGHT foot was already down, and he had the ball in his hands... he controlled the ball and was attempting to control it more... Had he not shifted it into his chest, and just kept it held out there, that is considered control... the SEC officiating officially sucks worse than a chick who uses her teeth like sandpaper.

Looked like he was in to me, and I didn't want LSU to win.

Officiating in both the NFL and the NCAA has really gone down the crapper this season.

That was a call that could have literally gone either way. His foot kind of looked like it was on the sideline to me. The divot looked like it was caused by his left foot, not the right.

Even if it had gone LSU's way it is doubtful that LSU would have been able to do anything because both their starting RB and starting QB were out of the game with injuries. LSU was doing nothing offensively once those two were out.

As a long time LSU fan, I have to say LSU could not win that game even with the INT. Here are why:

1. Starting QB and RB were out.
2. Replacement QB (Mr. Pick 6) was bad, 4-10 with 1 INT and 2 almost INTs.
3. Defense was so so (great at 1st and 2nd downs, bad at 3rd downs). Bama QB had all day to throw the ball.
4. Stupid, stupid mistakes/penalties= illegal motions, fault starts, illegal line up, Shepard clueless of where he should be line up. Guys, that was NOT a first game of the season. No excuses. Bama = about 4 penalties, LSU = 10 or so.
5. Horrible timeouts management, especially 2nd half. 3 timeouts to get off 2 plays? Enough said.
6. Run options were not working, and still run them in 2nd half? Duhhh.
7. Bad offense line protection. Look at the stats of hurry up/knockdowns/sacks between Bama and LSU.

LSU is loaded with talents, just underachive and not well coach. Can't beat good team if you play like that.
