Sec of Homeland Security needs to resign. Reason, malpractice.

Criminal enterprise. This should make any person regardless of political leanings physically ill.

I see it as a cry for help, an unconscious desire to create so much of a sense of self degradation she will be forced to quit over, something she won't consciously do because of a sense of duty.

"Bennie G. Thompson, a Democrat on the House committee on Homeland Security, is expected to deliver a copy of the report to Nielsen in person later today, to make sure she reads it.

Better stick around to oversee her reading of the report and maybe ask a few follow up questions, just to make sure.

You are more hopeful than I am.

Maybe next take it to the floor of the House and read out loud in entirety. Followed by introducing a bill demanding Trump fire her.

The truth is that I had to stretch myself to make that post. I wanted to do for you what I feel you do so often for others, challenge their pessimistic certainty by offering what I see as perspectives full of human empathy. Long ago I died to ever finding hope and when I did it started trying to find me. I am reminded of a story I once read called The Caravan of Dreams. It is in a book by that title I think.

I can't find it in that book except for a remark that it comes from the Arabian Nights. Anyway, it is a story of a person who so richly imagines a vast caravan of riches on its way to him that it actually arrives.

It's unlikely but when all hope dies for a change of heart then where does that leave us? I'll play the foolish optimist because I'd rather be that in such cases than "be right" and have gained nothing.

When hope of the impossible dies what remains is hope that is real. We hope to end pain and pain ends when we realize it isn't real. We suffer separation from joy but where could it have gone? It can't go anywhere, it can only be hidden. What if what hides joy if the unconscious belief we don't deserve it. To believe that is to create hopelessness. What if one believed so deeply that one had a caravan of riches on its way that it actually arrives. Why wouldn't it if that belief were what we really believe. But if we tell ourselves we believe and actually don't, well that's not an idea condition, wouldn't you say. But losing hope would fix that problem, at least. :)

Anyone remember the brief " Bin Laden determined to attack United States "?

I thought that was bad that the potus was too busy bbq'ing in Crawford, TX and didn't read it. But apparently that's small fry.
