and cops are also known for unjustly and disproportionately killing black men.

is some form of policing necessary? i think so. can and should we do better than our current system which we KNOW has faults and biases? FUCK YES.

acknowledging our current system is unacceptable is the first step towards actually making it better. but only a fraction of people (%population-wise) are there, and most of them are the ones being oppressed by the system, so they have little power to change it.
Exactly, and those people (Selleck, Esiason and Piazza) have a lot of sway...

Has the OP started a thread yet where they didn’t bring up 9/11? It’s like the fucking 2004 election in these threads.
9/11 still has an impact on society, because it was 22 years ago and it was in the 21st century---we are still in the 21st century, whereas slavery, colonialism, etc. was 15th-19th century....

So, yes it still is a big deal. A lot of first responders have illnesses still...

Who the hell cares what Selleck, Esiason, Piazza, TMZ have to say about cops and procedures?

Piazza saved America mentally after his home run on 9/11, he has the utmost of respect for cops and firefighters on to this day, that's why...

If Colin Kaepernick can have an opinion, so can Esiason and Piazza.

I'm not that anti or pro cop but this thread has gone full stupid. It doesn't matter what any individual thinks, celebrity or not.

Do you eat Wheaties because a celebrity says it's good?
If that is the case, Kaepernick would have still been in the NFL. Celebrities have a lot of sway. You think Taylor Swift doesn't influence millions of people? You are mistaken.

Celebrities have sway.

You're confusing people having "sway" with whether or not said people are actually correct. Someone with influence is no more likely to be right on an issue than someone with none.

Not sure what the OP's plan with this thread since he basically immediately pivoted hard and stuck with the usual moronic right wing contradictory thought by both trying to appeal to authority of some celebrities but then trying to call out other celebrities despite basically no one in this forum really giving a shit what they think politically.

I'll just remind people you can simply just ignore trolls, idiots, and people who are attempting to manipulate others, really doesn't matter which one the OP is, its all the same behavior.

Dude was so upset he made an entire other thread for this. Not sure if he's trying to obscure how blatantly obvious it was he didn't give a shit at all about the supposed topic of this thread and it was some attempt at subterfuge to focus on the celebrity shit, but there's a reason I'm telling people to just ditch this trash instead of responding to it, they have no interest in actual discourse, its all about them trying to frame issues in certain ways. And just happenstance the rest of circus returned to town I'm sure...

His threads are all the same. He has to be some kind of bot trying to aggregate stupid right wing shit. The ultra repetitive nonsense, repeating irrelevant celebrity names in every post.
