Kacyvenski remains genuine, sincere, having not forgotten for a second whence he came.
By today's standard of outrageous financial compensation in major professional sports, Kacyvenski's three-year, $2.4 million contract -- he has two years remaining -- is a relative blip on the screen. But in pleasant contrast to the likes of Randy "Ain't nothin' but 10-grand" Moss and unappreciative louts of that ilk, Kacyvenski has not lost sight of reality.
"What's the difference between big and bigger?" he asked. "I go home every night and I think about how blessed I am and how blessed we are as a family.
"I'll sit back with my wife and look back at the road that we've taken to get to the point where we are. I'm someone who that's not lost on. I appreciate that every single day.
"I realize how much fun my job is and I know a lot of people don't go through life having a job they love. I wake up, go to work and go to bed with a smile on my face."
