Hello all,

I still need a GPU and it looks like these are now available on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-429-_-Product

If I'm running the following, will the 580 Direct Cu II be able to go with it with the Seasonic X650?

i7-950
Asus Sabertooth X58
Noctua nh-d14
1tb WD caviar black
Asus 24x dvd-rw drive
4x 120mm case fans, 1x 200mm case fan, 1x 140mm case fan

No problem. Same one powers my i7 970 and crossfire 6950's without even turning on the PSU fan.

The seasonic has a 6pin PCI and a 6+2 pin PCI power connector so you WILL need to use one of the included power adapters i believe.

I'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure my X-650 came with 4x 6+2 pin connectors.

It should be able to handle any single card with ease, go for it OP.

I have no issues with these types of threads being starting in VC&G but I just want to do my part to make sure that the OP is aware of the fact that they have access to a much deeper pool of PSU savvy folks over in the Power Supplies sub-forum.

I have every reason to believe the answers provided in this thread by the VC&G community are factually correct and valuable advice. And I doubt the OP would receive contradictory inputs from the PSU community, but the confidence the OP might come to have in the answers to his question may well stand to benefit by the volumes of responses his thread would illicit from the Power Supply community itself.

Thank you for all the responses. If the question is better suited for the power supply forum and the moderator would like to move it there, that is fine with me.

I was just concerned about putting too much stress on the PSU if the 580 were to run at full load with the i7-950.
