seasonic X series

I bought 400$ psu 1250W, like 6 months ago.
It was the best I could afford, with the best specs, on paper.
Just wanted to share my experience, so you pay attention.

Seasonic is supposted to be the best but these are "problems' I became aware of very soon after purchase:

a) noisy fan, because of the grill. When you take off the grill, noise is gone.
b) occasionall power on/off problems. Pc wont't turn on, and when I use shift the main switch to off, I hear click and a discharge that spins propellers a little bit
c) fan kicks in regardles of power consumption. If temperature is > 25 c it will always kick in. I hoped that I would get fanless psu under low load

just sharing my thoughts that the best brand is not always the best choice. If you don't play games much, I would go for fanless psu next time. I don't need noisy one that lasts forever

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the Gold model I bought a year or so ago. Still have my 2009 650w model and honestly the build quality of this gave it it's name imo

I have a Corsair HX 750 which I believe is a rebranded Seasonic. The fan never kicks on unless I game. Very quiet PSU

My experience with seasonic g650 has been excellent. Only one gripe: the modular connectors are located too close to the edge of the unit, making it incompatible with using a floor fan right next to the unit (my case is define r4).

Also had a seasonic x650 before but accidentally killed it

OP: Have you tried contacting their customer service for a replacement? No company on earth can put out products with 0% error. You got unlucky, that doesn't mean the brand sucks.
