Seasonic X-1250 psu weird switch on problem

Hi All,
I have had this PSU for around 2 years now.
It powers my Asus Maximus VIII Hero.
Problem is that the PC will no longer switch on when using the normal power on switch on the chassis. Nor will it power on hitting the 'start' button directly on the MB.
Tried hitting reset and clearing the BIOS.
I was just about to give up when I accidentally switched the mains switch off and then back on very quickly and the machine burst into life.
So my problem is that I am not sure if this is a PSU issue issue or a MB issue.
I am "only" running a single GPU (Geforce 980 Ti) so I should be nowhere near this PSUs limit.
What do you guys think?
