Seasonic S12-600 vs. PC P&C 510 SLI

PCP&C is almost silent.

If you a REAL noise freak, get the Seasonic but the PCP&C isnt that loud.

Either way, the PCP&C is the best performing PSU on the market next to some zippys and the 850 watt model.

I thought they were loud considering the screaming 80mm delta?

Anyways, I was considering the Seasonic as it's considered whisper silent and has excellent efficiency.

Its more like 34 - 44dB which isnt all that loud.

Liike I said, if your a silent freak, get the Seasonic, if you want max performance, get the PCP&C.

I THINK you can make a special order with them and ask for a quiter fan.

I heard this somwhere.

Are you kidding. 36dba sounds like a jet engine in your computer. I had a Thermaltake 6Cu+ back in the day and it was rated at 36dba. It is insanely noisy.

The Seasonics are MUCH MUCH quieter. However you can get PCP&C to include a nicer fan in which case it is nice and quiet. No where near Seasonic, but still pretty quiet.

I would take the PCP&C over the Seasonic. If you are a sound freak though, and you have to turn all your fans down and suspend HDD and what not the Seasonic will be noticably more quiet.

Be careful, BouZouki does hard core drugs. 🙂😛

Now what's the use? high extreme clocking? Or Dual core processor? Definity get the loud arse no competition PCP&C.

All other situations get the Seasonic.

i have the pc power and cooling. cables are sleeved. frozencpu has pc power and cooling also and can change the color of the sleeves if you wish at an extra cost of course.

I am not going to knock the PC P&C as they are great units, but I got a seasonic S12-600 for about $90 less than the cost of the 510 and couldn't be happier. How much more are you actually getting for the money you spend?

for the amount of $ the S12 costs PLUS the cost of shipping it to PPCs service charge to get it sleeved, I'd choose the PCP&C PSU.
The twisted wires of the seasonic dont really require sleeving. Kind of a waste of money.

If just going with stock units though, defi9nitely the seasonic. the sleeving I could do without.
A good cabling job is always better than just sleeved cables all over the place.

The Seasonic PSU is a lot quieter and has over 80% efficiency. It actually has 87% efficiency all the way from 200-400W.

So there really isn't much of any reason to get the PCP&C model unless you think you can actually pull more than 18A on a single rail. Seeing as the CPU uses its own rail and a GF6800 Ultra maxes out at 4.22A, that would be pretty tough to do. You'd need a 6800 Ultra SLI system with more than 4 hard drives -- and then it still really wouldn't matter, since hard drives only draw more than 1A when spinning up, and they shouldn't be spinning up while you're in the middle of a game that has your SLI maxed out.

I got the Seasonic, for aprox $130 delivered, its a better deal, and unless your doing it for looks it doesn't realy need to be sleeved w/ the way its cables are.
