I purchased a Seasonic S12 500W PSU 2 weeks ago to replace a dead Antec PSU.

Today I noticed that the PSU makes a slight clicking/ticking noise as it spins. I am sure it is the PSU because the timing of the clicks (rapid) matches the movement of the PSU fan.

Do any other Seasonic S12 owners have the same problem? You really have to have your ear close (12" or less) to the PSU to hear it.

Thanks.

nothing but near-silence out of mine, have had it for about a year now. i guess maybe see if there is something hitting the fan blades ever so slightly?

RMA time.

Sounds like a fan clicking as the voltage has been turned down so low by the onboard controller. You could block some of the intake to try and force the internal temperature to rise and accelerate the fan to a point where it does not click.

Or it could be a loose wire.

Contacted Seasonic. They said RMA it.

Went through Newegg who is going to overnight me a new one and even credited me $10 for my trouble.

I just found out though that my local computer shop has this PSU for $30 cheaper than Newegg. Oh well.
