This psu is very highly rated on SPCR (link).

Although the price isn't considered "hot" for a psu in general, like OP said, its a good deal on this particular psu.

I always find it funny when people spend $$$$ on their video card/motherboard/processor, only to put in a cheap $20 psu into their rig. Its like buying a brand new porsche only to put 87 octane in it.

I will take your word that it is an excellent PSU but that link only reviewed a few PSUs and among them were none made by OCZ. I am currently using an OCZ PowerStream and without it's adjustable voltages and incredably stability I don't think I would have been able to get to 5GHz on my Socket 478 Prescott. I have also seen nearly a dozen glowing reviews by major sites of the PowerStream and it was running for something like $110 - $40MIR for the 600W (it does 700W peak for 60+ seconds) so I really wouldn't call this hot.

The deal for the 600W powerstream was last month and I can't find it anywhere even remotely in that price.

The S12 is cheaper, more efficient on power, and a hell of a lot more quiet because the OCZ has 2 loud fans.

I'll second that. The S12 is incredibly efficient, rock solid, and quiet. I'd take that over a lawn mower that puts out a few more watts and costs me more at the meter any day! Nice post OP, anytime this PSU goes on sale it's worth hearing about.

OT: In my state you can get 85 octane... and yes people with nice cars use it for some reason. Maybe they only had enough $$$ for the car ;).

Actually after factoring in efficiency the OCZ puts out less watts :p

I'm surprised the Seasonics have kept their value for so long. Man, I just want a newer S12-600w with longer cables so I can get an Antec P180b. Apparently with an Asus A8N-SLI DLX and the old Seasonic, there is absolutely no slack when connecting the cables. I could get extensions but bleh.

I use an older S12-500W w/ Antec P180 case and Asus A8N32-SLI DLX mobo. Running the 4-pin power cable under the mobo to the top of the case does work, though you have no slack.

Right now, I have quite a bit of slack and able to run the 24pin ATX power cable around the side of the motherboard.

I should mention that I was using an Asus A8N-SLI Premium where the 24pin ATX connector is in the same spot as your DeLuxe in the same set-up. I was still able to run the 24pin power cable around the side of the motherboard but had no slack.
