After what I've been through over the years with PSUs, and with what I'm planning to spend on my C2D project, I'm not going to sweat spending an extra $40 to $100 on a decent power supply.
I know one friend who won't buy anything other than PCP&C Turbo-Cools. I've NEVER seen them on "sale," never seen them sold with rebates. The performance reviews and warranty periods are good indicators, so even if PCP&C PSUs are considered "creme-de-la-creme" -- I'm keeping my eye on the Seasonic and a few others.
It looked like the Antec TruePower Trio 650 was decent, and I think it was offered at one reseller with a rebate for just over $100.
But I'm really looking hard at quality, and, like the Clint Eastwood movie title -- "For a Few Dollars More . . . . "
