Those two are very similar, especially since Seasonic builds the Corsair HX series psu's. However the Corsair has a longer warranty (5 yr) and more amps (50A max) on the 12V rail. The Corsair should be quieter since it doesn't have the 60mm exhaust fan. Out of those two I would definitely go with the Corsair. It's only $119 @ buy.com AR and Google checkout which should be about $40-$50 cheaper than the M12.

I read some reviews and came to the conclusion that the M12 was a slighter better PSU. Can't remember why at the moment. I bought the M12 700, and it is excellent. I have good ventilation and a great deal of hardware, and I have yet to have the 60mm fan spin up. Of course, my ambient temps are locked between 24C and 28C - regulated by central air.

At any rate, I'm very happy with it so far (only had it a couple months).

Now I remember why I got the M12 700 over the Corsair 620:

4 3x2 PCIe connectors on the M12 vs. 2 on the Corsair.

I figured it would be better equipped if I went SLI.

I purchased a Seasonic M12 and it overvolted and trashed the mobo and two hard drives. I will never consider a Seasonic again. There have been several bad reviews in Newegg about it.
OTOH The Corsair has nothing but good reviews and it is totally silent.

Seasonic builds all of Corsair's psu's, so I guess you need to boycott them as well. :p

Both the Corsair and PCP&C Silencer are based on the same platform and component quality as the Seasonic S/M12. While there are subtle differences, it seems foolish to say "I will never consider a Seasonic again". :)

Why would I take another chance on a product when it cost me significant money and a great deal of time. That would be truly foolish when there are good alternatives which have not proved defective. "Once burned, twice Learned".

The HX Series now includes a 6+2-pin PCIe connector, so both cables will have a 6-pin and a 6+2-pin PCIe connector on each cable. If your psu didn't come with the new cable you can call Corsair and they'll send it for the cost of shipping.
