15.6V drill for $50. Holy Crap! Don't get in my way Saturday....

Be forwarned, these cheap Sears cordless drills sometimes have the charger with the slow (~5 hours) recharge time.

If you're planning on using this just for occasional use around the house, a pretty good buy. If you planned on using it for a larger project, with a lot of screws to shoot, you might be disappointed. I bought a 13.2v model about 4 months ago, to replace an older cordless drill/driver (same voltage), and was a bit miffed about the slow charge. My older version has a 1 hour charger, but one of the batteries died, so was hoping this new model would augment the old one. The new version has a 5 hour recharge time, and the batteries don't last any longer than the old model's batteries did. :(

Just something you might want to check on, before you get the drill. :)

Whoops! Guess I should have looked at the web page for the drill first!! LOL

Still, 3 hours recharge time is a bit slow, IMHO. I'd just as soon spend a bit more, and get a higher voltage model with a fast recharger.

Unless they went out of business, I doubt it ever will be 50% off every item.
so it should be selected items.
As to which items, beat me ....

WTF? Drilling marathon? I got a 14v firestorm, and have never had to stop work to wait for a charge. That is because decent drills come with a spare battery. And the quickconnect bit system is awesome. In less time than it would take to change speeds, you can go from drilling to screwdriving, and back to drilling. Wooo Wooo!!! Firestorm Specs

I just went to the Sears website. I clicked on the 50% off banner and checked under the different headings. Some of them had only 2 or 3 items. The total for all the headings is less than 20 items.

Whatta joke!!!:Q:D:|

I have a 16.8 Sears drill with the slower charger BUT mine came with 2 batteries so I didn't really care. I've had mine for over a year with no problems. If you buy the higher voltage models they do come with the rapid charger. This price really isn't that great! I bought my 16.8 Volt for like $69.00 over a year ago.

Yeah, I was about to go until I saw that. Most of the items are a joke as well. It is just to get stupid people in the store. Unless your going in for a purpose, ex. Drill.

Just came back from local Sears. The only reason I went was to check out the cordless drill for $50. Heck, they did not even have one on display so you could check it out. This drill is from their lower tier "cheap" drill class. The store had a whole bunch on display and it appears that there was no mad rush to clear the shelves. Took a look around and found that they normally have drills from this "cheaper" class at this price-point on a regular basis. For example, a few feet away they had the 14.4v drill (same class) for the same as the 15.6v. I passed on the deal .... since it appears that I can get a similar deal just about anytime.
