Nothing but nightmarish barf...

question is, other than taking it in the ass...is there anything you can do to get your money back? 1400 tv sitting in th garage for 2 months plus and getting nowhere on the repairs..

speaking to each representative after being on hold, appears to be more retarded than the next...go to the store...even more retarded people that are barely past the 2nd grade education wise....

i am beginning to see the merit in people going postal...after all the time you spend on hold, and frustration...etc.

I will never, ever buy anything from Sears again...

I cannot believe this crap... the last CSR, I kid you not, I swear he was toking up a joint while we talked.

ALL extended service warranties are a joke.

You could pitch a fit and demand to speak to managers, supervisors, whatever...if not, threaten to file a complaint with the BBB, call Corporate, etc.

The only stupid people are the ones who buy the warranties, not those in the store selling them. Why the fuck would ANYONE buy insurance on ANYTHING. If it was worth it to the consumer, the business would not offer it, CAUSE THEY WOULDN'T MAKE MONEY ON IT. The odds tell you its worth it for the business, thus go with odds. Its not FUCKING WORTH IT.

Isn't the Sears warranty supposed to kick in AFTER the manufacturer warranty has run out? Have you called the manufacturer?

I worked for Sears in the electronics department for several years during college.

At one time, Sears would take a return on an item for up to two years, although after 2 or 3 months they would pro-rate the amount you got back. If your tv is less than 2 years old, you should ask about this. This was company policy handed down from corporate headquarters; they actually sent us quick reference cards showing what % of the original price a customer got back depending on how long they had the product.

Also, the thing about Sears is their "Satisfaction Guaranteed or your Money Back" slogan. I assume that this is still their policy. It may be unpleasant for you, but you basically need to throw this in their faces. Also, they have a very strict chain of command starting with their end-employees and going up all the way to corporate. If the person who is talking to you isn't giving you satisfaction, talk to their boss. Sears, like most companies, has district, regional, and corporate management levels, all of which are accessible to the customer.

If nothing else, consider this a lesson learned: extended warranties are rarely if ever something you want to purchase.

That depends on the type of warrantee Chunkee purchased. Most maintenance agreements purchased at Sears are concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty. At one time, we sold some warranties on small electronics (radios, etc.) that kicked in after the manufacturer's warranty.

Again, this is based on knowledge I gained when I worked there ~12+ years ago, so it may have changed.

humm, ive had the extended warranty save me a lot of money when something broke. I also have never had a problem with sears repairs. The last product i bought from sears was a dual fuel convection range. with all the electronics on this thing you bet your ass i paid 80 bucks extra for the "insurance"

I've dealt with Sears twice on warranty issues. Once was to swap a TV for a new one, which went smoothly (had to pay $50 for and upgraded model though, but more than worth it) and once for warranty repair on my fridge.

The TV one went sorta haywire, but didnt take long to get settled. I'd give them a "meh" to positive in warranty support.

Let me amend my statement. There are a FEW items that MAY be worth it. But in the grand scheme of things, its a fucking rip off. If the company wasn't making money on insurance they wouldn't offer it. If they are making money, it means you're losing money. I don't buy insurance on anything. I've had a great amount of luck with manufacturer warranties, and when I haven't I don't mind spending a bit of money on a new product. Its money Ive saved over the years on NOT buying insurance.

The jughead they keep sending out replaces the cards and it does not work. This also only counts as one service call....so no lemon law. A fucking 2 month plus service call.

Asswipes...worthless...just worthless.

No, the one I purchased at HHGregg has been awesome. Night and day difference.

are you bored? want to speak with a retard or thugbutt? call sears line.

Sent you a pm about it.

They will take care of you, i guarantee it. If your protection agreement is still in effect you merely need to push a manager into contacting one source to get it repaired or replaced per the warranty.

Essentially if you get the tv repaired 3 times within a year, you're allowed to have a new tv, or if the tech determines that it is not feasible to replace parts they will authorize a new television.

in RE: to Nuclear Ned. Currently the protection agreements essentially replace the manufacturers warrantly. IE if you buy a 5 year protection agreement and the television had a one year through sony, you now have a 5 year total through sears. The only difference is if you purchase a replacement agreement on an item(usually sub $100) and it just tacks on a year of warranty that you can replace directly at the store.

As far as satisfaction guarantee, you won't get anywhere with that. That is a 30 day return policy on home electronics, 90 on most everything else. Outside of that you're screwed and will be required to go through warranty.

Believe me I've learned the ins and outs with sears warranty since working with customers on it and selling them.

Haven't had a problem with my extended warrantee on my craftsman power tools. I've gotten new saws, drills, batteries, etc due to the warranty purchased. Never a hassle. Just took in the broken stuff with receipt and walked out with a new one.

When you speak with a CSR, ask to speak to their manager and don't take any shit.

In regards to Extended Warranties, looks like it was a good purchase for you since you're having problems with your TV, too bad they can't fix it for you in a timely manner.

Ah. You need to invest in some shackles. Don't let him leave until it's fixed. ;)
