Sears salesman promised a rebate

Long story short, we bought a nice stove from Sears during Thanksgiving sale. The delivery, according to the salesman, was supposed to be free after the rebate ($75 value). He printed out all the rebate receipts, circled everything that needed to be filled out, packaged it up in one envelope. Basically, all we had to do is just put in our address and put it in the mail.

Last week a reply from Sears came back: we were out of the rebate period by two days (not for mailing, but for byuing an appliance) and are thus ineligible.

Is there any recourse or am I SOL?

Thanks.

Talk to the salesman, if that doesn't work escalate it to the store manager or Sears corporate?

All right, I'll give it a shot. Something tells me they'll deny whatever they can.

Then raise hell.

Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.
Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.
Ambition? ha!
If all Ive heard is true,
Theres nothin much I can do
To change the world, its irreversible.
But in what it lacks,
Its got a taste that smacks of somethin irresistable.

Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.
Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.

Submission? yes!
Now I wont name names, and a secrets a secret,
But a hints a hint or a clue.
You really wanna know, you really wanna go,
Theres only two things you got to do.

Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.
Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.

Mother, mother.
Mother, mother.
Mother, mother.

My mission? ah, yes!
Everybody hear? everybody here,
Its a fate I all agree.
Sometimes you win, I never lose,
To me its no mystery.

Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.
Gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell, gonna raise hell.

^ I'd definitely kick myself for not reading it, then I'd find that Sears salesman and give him a piece of my mind.

your best bet is to go back to the salesperson and tell them what happened. If they're good, they'll talk to their manager about it for you, and you won't have to ask to speak with the manager. If the guy gives you the run around and you actually have to speak with a manager, then you're most likely SOL

I suspect you're S.O.L., but I'd DEFINITELY raise hell and try to get some form of compensation.

Shit like this is yet another reason I quit buying appliances from Sears. Fucking salesmen lie, no matter what business, but they push the salespeople there so hard that they'll promise you the moon to get a sale.

The salesman basically lied to you about the price. I would think most managers would honor this and give you some kind refund or store credit.

Just about every time I have been misquoted a price or seen an outdated sale sign in a store, that price is honored.
