I needed some mounting rails for the catch-pan on my Weber grill, 2 small L-shaped pieces of aluminum that had rusted out, after checking out several places that specialize in grill parts I found them at Sears parts direct for $2.99+$4.50 shipping, the next closest place wanted $15 +6.95 for shipping. Just a heads up for everyone that might need appliance or mower or grill parts, if parts direct can sell them to me for $2.99 there must be a hell of a markup on parts!. Anyway, check out Sears parts direct first and I had them in 4 days too.

Quite often there is also a nearby parts depot if you need it asap. I'm not in a big city area and it's only 30 minutes away.

It will be a sad day if Sears goes down and takes their parts support with it.

My 1980s Kenmore oven element caught fire (it was a sight to see). The local Sears parts house had a new element in stock and it was under $20. A repair guy would have charged $75+ just to get out of his truck.

Yea, me too, I'm used to price differences but $2.99/15.00 is amazing, I'm gonna get curious and check on some prices for my lawnmower parts and report back the results..

Like any place, they don't always have the best total price. I just ordered a push rod for my Sears mower from Amazon because Sears didn't stock it locally and their shipping was higher (and slower) than Amazon Prime.

But still, they have parts diagrams for everything....ever built....by anyone...in the universe.

Yea, that helps a LOT to get a part#. Amazon prime is always free ship correct??

I got hit for $14 shipping on a couple of blades and a replacement part for my rider just yesterday. I paid it but not pleased with the shipping charge.

I wouldn't say they have such great prices (never checked their competition) but usually it is a lot cheaper than replacing the item.

Got a new throttle cable for my gardenking tiller from parts direct . I went to a local place and the owner told me to piss off. A $10 part wasn't worth his time to order. Too bad it wasn't worth my time to buy the chainsaw I had planned on buying from him.

I bought a replacement garage door motor and capacitor from them a few years back for my old house. Beats the $650 the garage door company quoted me for a new system b/c "the parts aren't made anymore". $120 and change later, it was fixed.

I don't know how it compared to Grainger (there is a B&M store about 7 miles away) but at the time, it was great.

I was looking for an extra oven rack yesterday and this site was one of the few that had it. Price seemed a little steep for an oven rack, but it was nice to know that I could look up the model number and get a diagram, available parts, etc. The good thing was it offered a substitution part that other sites didn't, so I eventually might be able to find it cheaper.

Yea, the exploded views and the part#'s help quite a bit, once you have the exact part# it's much easier to shop around for the best price..

You can't expect a local equipment shop to help you special order a cheap part for a junk MTD Garden King tiller that you originally bought from a big box store.

Prime ships free*, but not all items are available via Prime.

*There are small items, one example would be guitar pics, that are called Add-On Items. They get free shipping if added-on to another Prime item.
