searchv fix?

So there's this annoying worm going around which resets your homepage to www.searchv.com (don't go there). Problem is, there seems to be a few variations of it out there--does anyone know of a way to get rid of all the variations? There's the running hijackthis and posting the log file so helpful people out there can help you identify what to fix method, but that's a bit time consuming if you have to do it on multiple computers.

How about an actual useful suggestion or keeping your mouth shut? For your information, this isn't for my computer. I do technical support and it's a little difficult to expect all some thousand odd students to all be as technically savy as you are, oh great one. They will and do get infected and I believe finding a way to fix the problem for them is a little more useful that giving them a suggestion that might make them feel like idiots no matter how true it is for some users.

By the way, I did also try Spybot. In the end, I'm having to use hijackthis and manually go through identifying what I should fix as well as using Regcleaner to remove stuff from startup to get rid of this thing. I guess I might have to write my own program to fix it if nothing easier is available.

I can relate to the frustration. We still have blaster on our network 😱
