I work for a government-run health authority in Canada and we started getting CIRA (.ca) notices saying that a few domains have been registered under our name using the exact same WHOIS information that we are using for our own domains. Now, after doing some sleuthing we discovered that they were registered by the Domain Registry of Canada which is the same company as the Domain Registry of America. If you Google them, they are in many lawsuits including one with the FTC.
We are an organization that provides health information to our residents and can't have these people bringing up these sites using our WHOIS contact information.
Is there a way to search the WHOIS database to see if what domains have been fraudulently registered using our information?
