News Searching for Continuous Gravitational Waves

Since SETI WOW challenge is suspended, I've made a proposal to replace SETI with Einstein@Home in SG forum. Please leave any suggestions/comments in that thread. Thanks.

@VietOZ, I try to register in XS forum sometime ago but wasn't successful. Anyway, this might be of interest to you and your team as Einstein@home is one of your favorite projects. 😉

And in other news:
Einstein@home discovered a Black Widow: The project identified the gamma-ray source 4FGL J1653.6−0158 to be a binary system of a pulsar with a mass of double or more compared to our Sun, and a tiny companion star of 1/100 the mass of Sun, circling the pulsar at a speed which holds the current record of all known rotation powered binary pulsars.

These stars twinkle at a 1.97 millisecond period. :-)

(announcement at einsteinathome.org, and article in Astrophysical Journal Letters)

PS, apparently the term Black Widow for this type of systems is due to the ratio of mass between the pair of stars, likened to the big female and tiny male of black widow spiders.
