Tried a few of the anthro-dictionaries but nothing. I have the definition but not the word.

The term describes an event or product that independently arises in two different cultures. Diffusion would be the opposite of this.

Popular example ---> pyramids, aztec and egyptian. the idea is similiar, bith serve a religious purpose, but the ideas were conceived and developed independent of one another.

help please

I'm thinking the word parallel is in there somewhere..
I know exactly what you're thinking of, but I can't quite get the word to the edge of my tongue...

Oh, and btw, the pyramids are similar because they were built by aliens!! 😛 🙂 (j/k, of course)
