hi !

sorry for the no-technical topic but it's important too!

for my meeting and personal project one2one presentation, i need a new laptop/notebook to be 'noticable' and gentlemanable when i am at desk or enter in the room !

i do not need a lamborghini asus , no notebook with alien or fruit apple in the back which say hello or ***U , no!

i need a laptop which say "this man is serious and look classy and constant and a little lucky in money". i know it is very secondary but it counts for me !
first impression is important !

my aim/dream was the dell adamo but it is not available anymore, rest in peace my beautiful one.

here are my feel and wish :
i like black, grey, metal and dislike white, flashy color, plastic effect
i like clear shape, triangle form and dislike rounded corner !
my screen res should be 1280x720 at last, not under, not to more either.

so what do you advice to me ?

I suggest you hire a string quartet to lead you into the room, they sit down and play a beautiful sonata as you enter, a spotlight shines upon your laptop and everyone in the conference room is in awe of the man entering the room. They gaze upon your Dell adamo (available on ebay for about $1000. bucks) in envy as they wonder how could they be so fortunate to be in the presence of a godlike individual!

No, that will not be acceptable Fardringle, he doesn't want one with an apple on it! Too "fruity" for him!

Seriously, though, you should check out eBay, there are some brand new Dell Adamos on there for 1K and up.

HP's EliteBook series look professional and classy, and the new Samsung series 9 isn't butt ugly either. It should also be a great deal faster than the Adamo as it comes with the new low-voltage Sandy Bridge CPUs.

If you want a notebook that shows that you have some money and are serious then have AMREL build you a customized MIL Grade unit. You should be the only one able to work while fully submerged and it wont get busted due to airline travel (stolen maybe).

At least you'll certainly stand apart from the crowd and kick ass in any jungle or climate extreme (no contest).
