I wanted to review posts about Iraq WMD in the period leading up to the war (2002-2003).

The forums have been around for years, but the closest available search is 'older than 1 year'.

Can the search feature be better fit to the forum's time frame, for example start and end date for a search?

Try google search it always lets me find stuff on any site a lot easier.
 
Silly silly Craig. Allow this evil conservative to guide you to your utopian paradise:

Advanced Search -> Keyword: Iraq WMD -> Sort Results by: Last Post Date In Ascending Order.

Now you'll get your results in the time frame you're looking for up first.
