when ever i search for something now by using the websites search function, the results arnted ordered like they use to be. Is there a way to change it so that the lastest replied threads are on top? cause i cant seem to find one

Btw, a way without using "Search for messages posted in the last _ days" I would like to see every thread with my search but justed ordered...

and can someone explain all the search functions? All of these words? Any of these words,These exact words.... I can get completely different answers when using different ones...

As Sluggo indicated go to advanced search. Check the box that says "order search resluts by date". That will make all your searches come up ordered by date.

It's hard because even if you get the words right and in the right search criteria box, the "title or body" and "Body only" searches don't work correctly. :(

For me, the search function doesn't find some threads.

OK... just checked again. Apparently, if you choose "Title or body", a lot of stuff goes missing, but the correct results (I think) show up if you click "Title and summary".

From my experience, a lot of the search features don't work as well as I would expect, so I usually just search for messages that I have created. Once found, i can usually figure out what thread I was trying to find. if I haven't posted in it yet, though, I guess this option does not work.

Definitely doesn't work. I searched for "hotlinking" and then in a separate search "htaccess" with my username as the author. No matches.
Nevermind that my thread, titled How do I prevent hotlinking to my website?, also uses the word "htaccess" within it. Search didn't find it though.

I just search for threads I've posted in, and then go through the pages. Its pretty much the only thing that works most of the time in the search.

Search is broken. It is the way of things, as it always has been and always shall be....
