One feature that would be nice is the ability to search all of the forums, even the ones you have hidden. Right now you only have to option of searching the forums that you currently have enabled in your profile.

If you hide forums, then there is no need to search them. Having them hidden in the search makes sense.

ya , you want them available or you don't...

Not really.

99% of the time I only visit 6 forums here however if a problem arose with my computer or I wanted to look up something specific I'm forced to go to my preferences and unblock relevant categories to search/view them. Then when I am done I have to go back and block them again which is a slight annoyance.

I'm willing to bet that a majority of users that block certain categories do so only to increase ease of navigation. It's much easier to pick from 1 of 6 categories in the drop down list rather than 1 of 20.

The category blocking feature of FuseTalk seems more like a moderator function than anything to me. It's used to completely block a users ability to view, search or even know about a specific forum's existence. In fact I would suspect that it is used in some form to block access to specific forum here at AT.

It think that what regular forum users really need is just a way to remove the forums from the drop-down list, not a complete block. Of course this something that AT has no control over and would need to be suggested to FuseTalk Inc. for consideration.

So uhm, is there any chance that the functionality could be modified? Maybe an option for it? It'd also be nice to have the list of categories on the search page variable so that when the window is maximized or at least wide enough for no overlap, it is as long as the main search criteria region, rather than a scrollbox. Just because I don't want to see all the forums doesn't mean I don't want to be able to find out if I'm about to make a repost (plus searching all forums makes it possible to refer someone to an existing thread even if I wouldn't normally see the forum).
