ya , you want them available or you don't...
Not really.
99% of the time I only visit 6 forums here however if a problem arose with my computer or I wanted to look up something specific I'm forced to go to my preferences and unblock relevant categories to search/view them. Then when I am done I have to go back and block them again which is a slight annoyance.
I'm willing to bet that a majority of users that block certain categories do so only to increase ease of navigation. It's much easier to pick from 1 of 6 categories in the drop down list rather than 1 of 20.
The category blocking feature of FuseTalk seems more like a moderator function than anything to me. It's used to completely block a users ability to view, search or even know about a specific forum's existence. In fact I would suspect that it is used in some form to block access to specific forum here at AT.
It think that what regular forum users really need is just a way to remove the forums from the drop-down list, not a complete block. Of course this something that AT has no control over and would need to be suggested to FuseTalk Inc. for consideration.
