when will we get search engines that actually return what you are looking for?

Like if I type in "Unexplained phenomena from 1840-1900", why can't it give me that info or why can't it point me to somewhere that has it?

edit: I never use it, but remember it being good at natural language searches

My guess would be about three or four years.

I think the biggest factor is identifying the websites that have useful information and ones with little content.
