Search engine malfunctioning in FS forum

I'm trying to do searches in the 'for sale' forum, but the engine is not working right.

First off, both the basic quick search and the advanced search with the 'sort by last post date' filter, do not sort by the last post date. The results appear to be partially randomized, with some new stuff at the top, but then just a mixed bag.

Additionally, when I select the time frame filter to '3 months or newer' (keyword 'radeon'), I get no results, whereas leaving it wide open yields very recent results for the keyword.

So, something is haywire with it, and unfortunately, that means perusing the ads is a lot more time consuming and becomes possible to miss stuff.
 
So the short answer is that the search backend we use doesn't behave very well when you limit posts by a certain date. If you stop doing that, you should get a properly sorted list of posts by date.🙂

Also, sort by Last Posting Date only works if you show results as posts. If you show results as threads, it will return results by thread start date.
