Search code is screwed

The "title only" in search appears to be completely broken. For example, I search for ipaq, title only, in FS/T forums.

It brings me back a ton of results including :

FS/T: Inspiron 8000 Laptop Notebook
fs/ft-lynksys wireless router, pci, and pc card-55$

All of which do have ipaq in the body, but not the title.

Also, one more suggestion. Could you change the quick search in the FS/T and Hot Deals forums back to date sorted by default?

Relevance ranking those forums makes the results completely and utterly irrevelant, since older items and deals are long expired.

We won't be doing this optionj globally at this time. There are only a hanful of categories were ordering by date will make any sense. The rest relevancy and date combined are more useful. That being said we will probably hard code the for sale and trade and hot deals categories to default to date, the rest are better suited to the Google approach of relevancy and date.

As for the theme issues, use another theme for now 🙂 When i have some time I will look at the theme side of it.

There is no fix required we hard coded order by date for HD and FS&T, as for title search its working as it was intended, its searching all message titles, but remember each message in a thread can have its own title..... So, you'll get hits that arent in the title of the thread. In the update tonight it will only search title of thread and topic summary.

Cheers

Will the sort by date be fixed also. Just did a search and the dates are all over the place.

Mooncalf, use advanced filtering if you need to sort by date alone. Everywhere else defaults to rank/date (like every other search engine out there).

Cheers.
