Well, says he was shot in his home. Remember the stories about robbers breaking into sports figures homes and robbing them? I think it was mainly NBA before. Now they may be moving to NFL players.

Shot in home

I'm guessing drug deal gone bad. Just my speculation here.

Another forum with an "insider" said he died an hour ago before the story was released.

wow, he was convicted of a misdemeanor over 2 years ago for nothing related to drugs at all. someone tries to break in his home and he is shot (while his girlfriend and child are both there no less), and you are saying it's a drug deal gone bad? racist much?

In 2005, Taylor was accused of brandishing a gun at a man and repeatedly hitting him during a fight that broke out after Taylor and some friends went looking for the people who had allegedly stolen his all-terrain vehicles.

Taylor reached a deal with prosecutors last year after they agreed to drop felony charges against him. He pleaded no contest to two misdemeanours in the assault case and was sentenced to 18 months probation.

The man, Ryan Hill, also sued, seeking at least $15,000 in damages. Hill suffered bruising to his body, incurred medical expenses and lost wages because of the fight, the lawsuit said.

Disgruntled fan?

I doubt there are many fanatic Redskins fans in Miami looking to shoot him.

Sigh, should I even bother, oh what the hell why not. My post was in jest, but that response leaves me wondering if Linflas acutally thought before pulling the trigger.

I never said it was a Redskins fan, the Dolphins did play Washington this year BTW. It is also possible that some people in Miami are fans of the Redskins. I've lived in Cleveland, Ohio the majority of my life, yet I have always been a fanatical Steelers fan. I guess we could rule out anyone from DC, it's not like there is any way to travel from there to Miami.

I hope he pulls through, for his daugher's sake as well as his own.

I can't say I wouldn't do the same if I knew who stole my ATV's.

From fox sports:

Taylor reached a deal with prosecutors last year after they agreed to drop felony charges against him. He pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors in the assault case and was sentenced to 18 months probation. The pleas prompted another fine from the NFL but kept his football career intact.

Taylor has been in trouble numerous times since he was drafted as the No. 5 overall pick in 2004. He has been fined at least seven times during his professional career for late hits and other infractions, including a $17,000 penalty for spitting in the face of Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman during a playoff game in January 2006. He also was fined $25,000 for skipping a mandatory rookie symposium shortly after he was drafted.

Yeah real stand-up guy. My mistake on the felony conviction though, didn't know it was pleaded down. I'd place a bet though that this wasn't just a random robbery gone wrong.

you are from texas you should know about protecting your property. He was going to reclaim his personal property and I'm sure this was met with resistance to which he promptly stomped out the assailant(s) .

Good for him. I'm not even a skins fan.

99.9% chances he was mixed up in some sort of illegal activity. Most people don't just "get shot" by a fluke.

you're right. thieves never break into homes trying to steal things and end up shooting the home owners.

Statistics are like a bikini, while they may be very revealing what they hide is essential.
