I certainly have no problem with Penn taking the ad out. It is his right. But the dixie chicks stand to lose alot more than Penn(what movies has he been in lately).
But speaking of Dixie chicks, Maines did wear a t-shirt at the country music awards that had "FUTK" on it. No one is quite sure what it means, but most guess it mean Fsck U Toby Keith. This assumption is made because Keith has written some patriotic music after 911. It seems we have not heard the last from the Dixie Chicks.

Bill O'Reilly was talking about this on his show the other night (which I watch ENTIRELY for its comedic value, because I really can't stand O'Reilly and I think everything he says is a load of crap). I think he kept saying it was 40,000 words, which sounded a bit odd, because that would have been about 80 type-written pages. He had a very manly sounding female columnist on the show to talk about it; she said she basically just skimmed over it, but it was nothing but drivel. Hmmmm... sounds like bias to me. I havent' read it, but I'd like to find it somewhere and read it. He also had some woman from a daytime soap opera on the show to "represent" Hollywood's point of view and defend Sean Penn. She was surprisingly articulate for a blonde soap opera actress, and she didn't take no guff from the manish columnist. Pretty interesting.
Well it would be interesting if it were true.
This is the industry that gives Academy Awards for Best Documentary to Michael Moore. Its a notoriously left-wing industry dominated by left-wing views or those sympathetic to them.
It would be far more likely for Penn to be risking his career by speaking out in favor of Bush than he would ever risk speaking out in opposition to Bush.
In fact, I'd be willing to bet Penn's phone is ringing off the hook with job offers he wasn't getting before. What's more, I'm equally sure Penn knew it would be.
