Why do people keep saying Obama and Ayers were friends? I think the furthest the campaign went was that they were "friendly"? And while people can certainly change, there's no way I'd want to be associated with Ayers publicly. Obama (or any sane politician, for that matter), shouldn't let a guy like Ayers stop them from constructing education reform that could positively affect millions of lives. The alternative would have been to quit and do nothing on education. Ridiculous, utter nonsense.

What kind of nonsense are you spouting. . . personally I require background checks of all co-workers and associations, as well as of my mailman and cashier at the grocery store. If anything is out of order I demand they resign.

You honestly expect politicians to perform background checks on every person they have a political relationship with? You do realize that the FBI itself takes 6-12 months to do background checks and they only employ about 40,000 people, yes? Which I suppose means you would honestly expect politicians to perform background checks on the millions of people they work and associate with over their lifetimes? Where do they get the funds? What's the incentive, to avoid politically inconvenient garbage like this, where people feign outrage over an association?

Sorry, the costs far outweigh the benefits. Sometimes you have to deal with slimy people in real life.

I'm able to do it. Just last week I got the report back on the cashier at the Safeway and she had been convicted of marijuana possession three years ago. I immediately called the manager and demanded her termination. He refused, so I broke into her car and planted a cash-filled cash register in the backseat of her car, and then lured the manager out there to "accidentally" stumble upon it. Needless to say she is no longer one of my associates. If Obama wasn't willing to do the same thing with Ayers then I'm just not sure he is fit to be our commander-in-chief in a time of war.

Haha, woops.

Interesting that Fox News has been talking up the Ayers-Obama link, well, Gibbs turned the tables on Hannity with regards to his association with an anti-Semitic douchebag.

The backstory along with the Hannity meltdown can be seen here:

Hannity is reduced to yelling and repeating talking points in defense.

Hannity should be in jail, period.

He basically said anyone that does not support Republicans is a Terrist today.

You can't be serious.

Yes, and Hannity's irrational conclusions are any different from the conclusions of a great portion of the members of this board how? Hannity blew up in that interview, but you're a complete fool if you believe his amendment rights should be violated.

I disagree. I will say Gibbs did an excellent job of diverting... but he didnt score any points. Jouranlists, commentators, even political hacks do interviews with both sides. It doesnt compare in the least. He interviewed Rev. Wright as well. It doesnt make him a proponent of Wright.

I would not have used Martin on the show. He has no credibility. That was Hannity's mistake. But the comparison between Hannity associating with Martin and Obama associating with Ayers isnt even valid.

Sure it's valid...they are both excellent examples of McCarthyism at it's worst (guilt by association).

It is kinda funny how Hannity claims that they are fair because they invite people from both sides of an issue but fails to mention that he usually just ends up screaming over anyone who has an opposing viewpoint.

Of course it's not like anyone should take the show seriously anyway, since they frequently find the craziest people they can (like Ann Coulter) to represent either side so that the people can be entertained by the freakshow.

Hannity....O'Reilly....Limbaugh....and what's her face?....oh yeah, Coulter.....McCain......Palin.....Liars, every single one of them, and they want the citizens of the USA to believe their blatant lies and their corruptive insidious commentary.

If FOX wants their ratings to go ballistic, then they should get Hannity to team up with Coulter and get Bill and Hillary Clinton on as guests for a two hour no-holds-barred special, and have Jerry Springer moderate...err, I mean referee.

Na Hannity vs Obama would break every record fox has for viewers. I might pay for that matchup if it was on PPV.

For ~50% of the country it is the exact opposite.

Its not lies, its logic/reality. (unfortunately I think those words are banned on these boards and not in the vocab of libs)

that Hannity should be in jail line.. priceless!

I will however admit to being annoyed that he just screams over any liberal he talks with, though its not often that his screaming makes you miss any useful points.

thats all for me folks!

you guys are all missing the point with hannity. he knows what he says should not be said by any rational person. his viewer base is of the low educated and bigot variety, so that's why he acts the way he does. he makes millions of dollars a year by being the cartoon character republican cheerleader that he is on tv.

Dead serious.

In fact not only Hannity but all of the Murdock and his Faux News organiztion should be declared Enemy Combatants and all of them rounded up and thrown in Gitmo.

Under current guidelines they are in fact Terrists. They harbor Terrists and promote Terrists.

By that guys logic Larry King is a terrorist sympathizer because he gave air time to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Are you really this daft?

"That guy" is just trying to show Hannity and the Fox viewership how utterly absurd their "guilt by association" link between Obama and Ayers is.

Apparently, it was lost on a lot of the posters on this board as much as it was missed by Hannity himself.

Yes Hannity was owned big time, and if you don't think so, well then it's safe to assume that the entire point went zooming by your head.

Hannity is Rush with a 5th grade education.

No, only Hannity is a McCarthyite. Gibbs was pointing out what a slime ball Hannity is.

If someone appeared on a news program and denounced Obama, would it or would it not be relevant information for viewers that the person doing the denouncing was a member of the KKK?

Well, Martin's background is just as relevant as if he were a member of the KKK, yet Hannity presented him as an "Author and Journalist." Hannity clearly has no respect for the truth.

I await a really talented debater who can throw Hannity's nonsense back in his face.

He could have done better: "Mr. Hannity, why did you not inform your viewers of Martin's background? Why did you present him as an "Author and Journalist" when he has a documented past as a hater of Jews who ran for Congress in 1986 under the banner, "The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America.? Why did you not inform your viewers that Martin's behavior in New York was so egregious that the Second Circuit Court of Appeals BARRED him from further litigation?

Is hiding Martin's background from your viewers and presenting him as a main-stream journalist, "Fair and Balanced?"
