Props for Roku. Don't carry any media channel that traffics in lies, falsehoods and conspiracy theories.

Even if I knew nothing about the particulars the people bitching about it tells me it's a good thing.

Except that has nothing to do with standards, fake news, or conspiracy theories. Read the article you linked.

Looks like Roku didn't have rights past 01/31/2020 unless fox signed the paperwork.

Meh, plenty of ways to access the Superbowl, no need for a fox specific app anyways.

Damn. It would have been nice if it were true. Corporations unwilling to give a platform to propaganda is just a pipe dream I guess.

Reading the OP, I hear him saying that it's a good thing a scum network like Fox is off of ROKU even if he doesn't know the reason. In other words he is happy to see this regardless of the reasons because he despised Fox News. I also wish the go to hell because they have helped destroy civil culture with propaganda and lies and appeal to the worst in everybody, and all for power and money. They are the propaganda arm of a Criminal Mafia and in a country that was intent on preserving it's democracy, would be shut down as a public health hazard. Typhoid Marry.

I do not want it, my inclination is towards freedom of expression.

However.... in the midst of this cold civil war... certain regrettable action(s) will be necessary for us to engage the enemy, draw a line in the sand, and stand up for ourselves - our principles, our way of life. We must start to fight our opponent. A full blown hostile boycott is as good a place to start as any.

Unfortunately for Roku, they should have known that Fox is in the business of employing political assassins.

They're what we call thugs. "Keep paying us or we'll slime your brand."

Roku claims the company "offered Fox an extension so that Roku can continue to bring a large and valuable audience to Fox but Fox declined." Roku notes it "tried for months" to come to an agreement

This is typical in retransmission rights/negotiations.
It seems that Hannity, Ingraham, an Peirro are arguing from a position of bad faith. Instead Fox networks is directing their agents of influence to lie to their viewers.

The above quote is from Roku.

Edit: whoops, corrected my error.
