Is there an easy way to cover up the small holes that some case makers insist on drilling in their cases? Can I just use tape or will that heat the inside of the case?

i think something is wrong with the case anyhow because i have put two diff mobos in there and the cpu idles at over 45c in both (K6-3+ and an Athlon XP 2600+

I have four fans in there too...I have two other systems in the house and they both idle under 35c and one of them has no intake fans.

i'm using the stock hsf with the xp but i had a coolermaster with the k6-3+...im thinking that the case sucks.

I don't see anything wrong with tape, heck even plastic wrap would work.

Um, no. If the tape comes loose you now have a nice electricity conducting chunk of metal floating around inside your case. I doubt the case design makes as much difference as having balanced in/out airflow.

Have any front/side panel fans blowing into the case and any back/blowhole fans blowing out. Make sure that the total airflow of the fans blowing into the case are equal to/greater than the airflow going outside the case. And don't forget to add in the airflow out of your Power Supply fan.

I cut out pieces of paper to cover the areas that had holes and duct taped them to the inside of the case.

I use duct tape to cover superfluous holes in the hidden areas (back, bottom). And I use Crystal Clear packing tape (Duck brand) to cover the holes in visible areas. If you want bling (or just have large areas of holes to cover), you can use colored (or clear) saran wrap (multiple layers darken the colors) along with the clear packing tape...
