On Wednesday, the "Crazy" artist took to Instagram to call out Oprah for being a hypocrite because of her friendship with the disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused by dozens of women of sexual assault, and even rape.

After the talk show host's fiery Golden Globes speech that built up speculation she might run for president, Seal posted a meme to his page showing Oprah in a photo with Weinstein.

The caption read, "When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution."

She then claimed he began groping her breasts until she demanded he stop. Birdsall told the gossip site she agreed to sit on the couch with Seal after that because she was in shock, but then he continued to grope her breasts and poke fun at her outfit

Well it is a bit suspicious that the alleged abuse happened in the fall of 2016 but was just reported a few days ago. I'm also suspicious of someone who was just sexually assaulted willingly sitting next to their assaulter on a couch and continuing to be assaulted without getting up and walking away. It's not like it had anything to do with work, her career, or anything. They were neighbors and she was at his house retrieving a salad spinner. If I was in that position and someone was punching me in the face but all I had to do is leave to stop the assault I wouldn't think twice about just going back to my house next door. I damn sure wouldn't sit on his couch and let him keep punching me in the face.

Last week, while attempting to walk back an Instagram meme suggesting Oprah Winfrey should have known Harvey Weinstein’s reputation, Seal urged victims of sexual harassment in general to speak out. “What you did takes real courage and please keep showing that courage and please keep coming forward because that’s the only way that we get to solve this thing,” Seal said. “We talk about it, we open dialogue, we solve it.”

Birdsall told TMZ that Seal’s remarks on the subject prompted her to report his alleged actions to police.

I should have been clearer. I meant the implication that she made the whole thing up to please Oprah.

Then I'll presume you disbelieve every allegation of this nature made against any public figure. Basically all of them involved delays of at least several years. The reasons people do not come forward have been discussed ad nauseam here. If you're not persuaded by these explanations, you likely never will be.

That seems unlikely. My point was that that's not the only form of 'connection' possible, and it seems there was a much less sinister one that explained the timing. That account does make it sound as if she might have let it lie if he hadn't popped up asking women to come forward. Didn't something similar apply to that Aziz guy?

Guess it's inviting trouble to make any sort of public comment on this situation - whether hostile or supportive - if you aren't yourself 100% 'clean'.

Hardly, given that he was _agreeing_ with liberals. And was the woman who accused him a 'liberal'? Seems more that she just had an existing grievance about his behavior and when he said 'women should come forward' she thought 'OK, then, I will'.

I actually agree with this. Finger pointing and "I'm better than you are" statements get us nowhere as a society.
