I have a Seagate 160GB Barracuda Model ST3160827AS and a Hitachi 250GB Deskstar 7K250 Model HDS722525VLSA80. I benchmarked them both on my game system using Sandra 2005.1.10.37 File system benchmark. (I was too cheap to purchase HDTach). My computer is based on the new Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9. Of the two drives, it appears that the Hitachi reads a little quicker and the Segate writes a little quicker. Please review the reports below and give me a suggestion of which drive I should place in my game rig. I'm leaning twards the better reader, Hitachi, because I'm thinking it will load games faster.

Artificial benchmarks really mean nothing. You probally won't notiuce any speed difference.

i've never owned a Deskstar, but the very name conjures me images of teh grim reaper , it was probably only a specific [old] batch of deskstars that were the evil ones though, probably.
