Seagate ST318451LC Cheetah X15 With 80 - 68 Pin Adapter

Just wondering if anyone can offer insight on the use of a 80 to 68 adapter.
Performance is on par with the 68 pin HD ?
I see the 80 pin drive offered at a discount and I wonder do the adapter really work ?

I have an Adapter 29160N with a seagate 68 pin x15 now. Can the x15 80 pin HD & 68 pin adapter be added to my chain with no problems ?

Thanks

The adapters work fine but make sure you get one certified for Ultra2 or Ultra160 use. (some are not and won't work properly)

You don't loose speed - the extra connectors on the 80-pin are just for power, scsi id selection, led, etc. as the drive is designed to go into a hot-swap system.
